Samples were collected from 13 cities of Turkey (Artvin, Rize, Ordu, Muğla, Aydın, Edirne, Kırklareli, Adana, Antalya, Gaziantep, Hatay, Hakkâri, Van) by contacting Agriculture Province Directorates and Beekeepers Associations. 15 bee samples that include 100 bees were gathered from each city. Alive and dead bee samples were sent to Apiculture Research Station Laboratories and investigated according to two different methods. After investigation in laboratories, no samples found positive for tracheal mite. Although tracheal mite was not found in Turkey as results of this study, it does not mean that there is no mite infection risk. For that reason beekeeping sector must continue showing sensitivity and attention as they have done so far. Keywords : Acarapis woodi, beekeeping, tracheal system, mite
